William D. Gwin Sr. - President & CEO

After obtaining a Master of Arts in Drama from the University of Virginia, he worked as a director for a community and professional dinner theatre directing over 50 major productions. Two children later, he worked as a Marketing Director for a state-wide real estate developer and 8 years as an entertainment manager and concert promoter where he was responsible for promoting artists such as Journey, Kansas, Alice Cooper, Lionel Richie, Steppenwolf, Tom Jones, "you know, today's fossil gigs!" he says jokingly. "When promoting over 200 Rock and R&B concerts, you learn marketing!" These are the profound words and past experiences of William D. Gwin, Sr. (David), President and Chief Executive Officer.

A wonderful business opportunity came David's way. In 1989, Mobile Laser Graphics, a pre-press service bureau, became his new venture. Managing a staff of four, this company provided high-quality scans and pre-press services to customers and printing companies across the country. With work-filled nights and weekends coupled with exhausting changes in the industry, David focused his sights on developing a marketing tool and a service with some stickiness and growth factor - a vehicle that would help businesses achieve their financial goals. Introducing the mass production of direct mail and newspaper inserts. "Ok, so it's not a new idea" - "it is," he stated, "an old idea made better."

Growing pangs and several corporate identities later, David decided on a name for his little empire. Visual Impact Communications, Inc. "Perfect!" he exclaimed. "This is the best name ever...again!"

Every year and to present day, Visual Impact boasts the production of record numbers of inserts and direct mailers. For 15 years, David has successfully guided his growing company into servicing many industries and personally serves as account executive for several major camera manufacturers and hundreds of photo-specialty retailers across the country.
